Art Ratio is a boutique designer of art conservation vitrines based on electo-optic glass, with the aim of protecting art, antiques and luxury items from light damage.
Our vitrines become transparent only when someone is nearby, allowing a theatrical presentation of rare manuscripts, maps, photographs, fragile textiles and antique jewellery. At all other times, our products become completely opaque, providing after-hours security and reducing light damage as a function of the light sensitivity of the object.
Our integrated data analytics portal reduces the risk of damage to sensitive collections by monitoring key conservation parameters in both real-time and historically, improving visibility on the state of conservation of the object.
To date, ArtRatio has protected two original maps of the 1815 Battle of Waterloo as well as a 19th-century ‘Torres’ Spanish guitar.
